There's more to stash than yarn

Kristi and I have both accumulated quite the fabric stash. I've created a set on Flickr and am toying with the idea of destashing in exchange for yarn. I just don't know if I can let go of those silks though. They're so pretty. What's wrong with me? Why can't I just let go? I'm so unlikely to sew anytime soon.

In other news, apartment hunting isn't going so well, but my knitting rocks! I really love the project I'm working on.

Why did you accumulate something you are not going to use? Keep the silk ... they make you feel good just caressing them. ;)
Wish you better luck with apartment hunting to come.

Yeah, I hear you. I destashed much of my fabric a few years ago--very hard because most of it I remembered very well when I bought it, why, who I was with, and so on. But once you get started and say goodbye to that first piece, it's easier to go thru the rest. Another thing I did to was to use some of my favs in home dec projects. I bought them because I liked them and now I get to see them all the time. Much better than gathering dust in a closet.

So... why would someone accumulate all these little pieces of fabric? Were they for quilting? Spinning? I'm honestly curious. Thanks! -j.

Are any of the small sets suitable for quilting? Would you be interested in selling some? I'm pretending that I'm going to find time in the next eight months to make a baby quilt.

Exchanging fabric for yarn can hardly be considered to be destashing :) Those cotton prints are awesome.
