Knitters are glorious people. First, Kristi was kind enough to test out her theory of yarn untangling enjoyment by converting my messy messy yarn into this:
I've got great ideas for this yarn, let me tell you. But I won't be posting any progress on it because it's a secret. Shhhh.
I also knit some more on London Pride. I have already knit more on this than I did on the Rose of England, and I'm less than halfway done. There is a long road ahead. I am hoping to knit 2 rows a day, but they're already over 1000 stitches. By the last row, I think it's over 2000. Fun fun fun! At that rate, I might finish in a month so don't hold your breath.
I was plugging along when I decided to take a look at the center, since I've been practicing Gene's doily center method. Apparently when I started this last year, I really sucked. It's AWFUL. Almost in an embarrassing I-need-to-rip-this-out-NOW sort of way. But that would be absurd. I'm going to see if I can apply some sort of afterthough crocheted center that looks somewhat nice. Here's another view if you don't like this one:
And even more knitterly goodness came my way. Gene sent me a doily! He is apparently overflowing with them. I couldn't get it to photograph that well because it's beige which looks like white with bad lighting in the photograph. I love the asymmetry of this design. Obviously I need to block it.
Kristi got a package from Gene too, so wait for her post on it. Oh yeah, and since we were both tagged, here goes:

Posted by: Janice at March 3, 2006 12:53 PMDRAT! I missed my chance at the big knot.
Also, one of the only food disagreements I have with my hubby is over home made mac & cheese. I could probably live on it. He thinks it's an utter waste of time (to make) and calories (to eat). So I have to indulge alone. Mmm. Cheesy noodles!
I like toasted pine nuts & salsa on my mac & cheese.
