Delph revisited

I did not finish Delph before going to Winnipeg. I'm still not finished with it. Instead I have been working 80+ hour weeks and barely getting any knitting time. It sucks. But I have managed to make a little bit of progress on the sweater, despite ripping out a large chunk of the back and sleeve. Previously, I had been making a raglan sleeve, and the back looked just like the front, except for the sleeve. I decided I didn't like the way it looked, partially because the sleeve cap was ending with a point, instead of a blunt trapezoidal shape across the top. I decided to have the sleeves meet like a raglan in the front, but extend across the back like an attached shrug.

Here is what I have in the front and back:

Here are details of the neck and where the sleeve connects to the back:

For the collar, I plan to pick up the stitches in the coordinating yarn color and knit a cabled/ribbed neckline. It's starting to look pretty good! And the yarn I am using (Jaeger Chamonix) is absolutely wonderful. I'm sad that it's fuzzing a little from repeated ripping.

I don't think the sleeves are too long compared to the sleeves in the picture. They're super long!

Brilliant design! I have been knitting for so long that sometimes sweaters just all seem the same. This is the first time in ages I have been so inspired. Your work is amazing and thank you for sharing

were the sleeves hard? how did you do them? I've been stewing about making a delphine inspired something for a while... probably with a high raglan neck and sleeves like yours, but am a bit scared at the thought of trying to knit those sleeves!

I am now obsessed w/ making this! It is amazing! Please, please, make the pattern available when you finish.
