The D* wannabe

So I finished the back and front and left sleeve and seamed them together. I was really worried it wouldn't fit, but look! It fits! And I even like the way it looks. The angled sleeve actually worked out and everything.

Sorry about the crappy picture. The room with the big mirror is a dim cave. I didn't think to take a picture with a timer until I saw how bad this photo looked and decided it was too hot to put the sweater back on. Now I just gotta knit the other sleeve and figure out how I'm going to knit the collar.

Very Delphine--love it! As for copyright, I wouldn't think it's infringement since you came up with the pattern yourself based on something you saw. Think of how many designer knockoffs there are out there.

So are the sleeves too short from the shoulder to the armpit as you were saying at SnB? It looks very good! I have no clue about the copyright issue.

What an awesome sweater!! Excellent job on translating the picture into actual stitches. No clue about copyright either but I'd be interested to know what the answer is.

Given my [somewhat limited, but still decent] intellectual property law experience, I'd say you can post your pattern. It shouldn't violate copyright in any legally enforceable way. This would especially be the case if there are some visible differences, such as the neckline or cuffs.

Of course, I am not an expert, so I can't say for sure. Also, you never know what lawyer might get a bug up his butt and send you a cease and desist. Of course, then you could always take it down. I doubt it would even get to that point though.

I really hope you will make this pattern available for purchase as well. I would really love to make your version of a Delphine Wilson inspired sweater.

Hello. It's amazing to find other people like myself working on delphine wilson sweater to make. I'm currently working on another one like hers. on the website, it's the summer/spring with the heart shape middle with the upsidedown stagehorn. So far it' looking like it, but I had to take it back down a few times. But this very one you worked on I decided to make my next project. I was wondering if you would like to share your pattern. Once I've finished I don't mind sharing mine.

Thank you,

Tacilya
