More yarn

I got some Koigu in the mail yesterday! That was really fast shipping.

At this point I really have to just admit that I'm a yarn addict. The knitting is only secondary. Any suggestions on what to make? Tons of socks sounds good...

Also, there are two new yarn stores opening near us this weekend!!! Ever since A. Actually, there are too many A's. It's getting confusing. Let's call this particular one Frau Blau for no particular reason at all except maybe that it rhymes. So ever since Frau Blau told me about her adventure to a yarn store grand opening and how she discovered to her surprise that everything was 50% off, I was so jealous and vowed that never again would I miss a yarn store grand opening if I could help it. She brought back Rowan goodies. Patterns. So many cute things!!! It was beautiful.

Of course, I don't expect to run into a 50% off sale this weekend, but I could use some Rowan Lurex Shimmer for Rapunzel. Or, you know, my stash is only 3 times my size or so. It really ought to be 10 times, don't you think? Heehee.

So here are the details I've got:

Friday, April 29
COMMUKNITY
A neighborhood yarn experience
1345 The Alameda
(one block west of Race St.)
San Jose, California

and

Saturday, April 30
10 AM - 6 PM
YARNDOGS
326 Village Lane
(behind Pedro's)
Los Gatos, California
399-1909

Catherine Lowe is also going to talk about couture knitting at the Menlo Park yarn store tomorrow. I am tempted to go, except we're already planning to go to the other two yarn stores, and I'll feel incredibly guilty if I don't buy yarn at all of them, but I have SO MUCH YARN. But let's face it. They lure you in with a free talk by some well-known knitter. And then you're sure to get "Aren't you going to buy some yarn???" looks. And the next thing you know your guilt is FORCING you to oh my goodness BUY LOTS OF YARN! That was too many caps. Sorry.

Comments

Yikes!!! That IS a lot of koigu. And I'm so jealous. If I had all that, it'd be like the time I had 4 pints of blueberries and I ate them all. There'd be a lot of socks going on at once.

Okay, you're tormenting with the new stores! I might try to make it tomorrow, it depends on how wiped I am after having five wild toddlers running around my house all morning. Can you email me your or K's cell phone number so I call try to meet up with you?
