Yarn on Sale!

My friend Kristy (yes, this is confusing, even in real life. We have the same name.) called me yesterday to inform me that the LYS, the Golden Fleece in Santa Cruz had EVERYTHING for 20% off. They are remodeling, and everything is everywhere, and it's all on sale! [As a sidenote, this only goes to show how addicted Kristy has become to knitting. She will shortly be asked to blog with us. She went to the yarn store on her own to get more yarn for more projects after staying up the night before not being able to put down her knitting, was wise enough to call me about the sale, and went to the yarn store twice in one day to get more yarn. Whee! There's nothing C and I love more than fellow addicts.]

Anyway, so I got some sock yarn. Did I mention it was on sale? This first set is two 100g balls of Sockotta, which is a blend of 45% cotton, 30% superwash wool, and 15% nylon by Plymouth Yarn from their Italian Collection. Sounds durable to me. The color on the left has the delightful name of 618, while on the right we have 621. The left is denim, bright green, pink, and yellow, the right is denim, light denim, olive, and bright green.

Next up: two colors of mini-ringel by Regia which I've really been wanting. Unfortunately, they only had one 50g ball of each color I wanted, so I got some brown that goes with both of them (Socka by Stahl in color 9416) for toes and heels. I find that I don't generally use 50g for each sock just for myself, so I think this will be fine. The colors here are 5213 on the left and 5343 in the middle. 5213 is navy, medium blue and a lighter blue with olive green and a medium green. 5343 is a medium blue and light blue with dark, medium, and light green.

Yay! Four more pairs of socks coming up!

Next post I'll show the half finished BBBBlanket.

Don't you love when they get all creative with color names? "618". That makes me want to buy it. haha.... of course the other end of the spectrum is when they get so dramatic that you have no idea what color they're talking about. "Glorious Lysianthus" or "Indoors"
