Knitterly events

This is a busy knitting event week!

Tuesday night, I went to the Chicago Stitch n Bitch where I was able to unload some of my stash. I unloaded my share of the Berroco X-Press, some sock yarn, and the thrift store yarn.

Last night, I went to the university's first "Knit n Bitch" meeting of the year. Such young newbies so eager to learn! I was going to announce that I'm going to KIP in case any of them wanted to come along, but I don't know if they're ready for that yet. Most of them don't know how to knit. Here was a sample conversation:

-- Isn't there a Knit n Bitch book?
-- Oh yeah, I think I've heard of that.
-- That came out about a year ago, right? I think it might be called Stitch n Bitch though.

I passed around some knitting books I recently acquired. I hope it inspired them. I was probably the oldest person there, and certainly the most addicted.

Tonight, I am going to KIP and then maybe to "Fashion Tribunal" at Sound Bar which will have Double-Stitch. Looks like a fashion show involving crochet wear at a nightclub. I'm going more for the drinking and the dancing than the craftiness, really. The craftiness just gives me a good excuse.

Comments

I'm sorry I missed going to KIP last night. I hope you enjoyed yourself. Will you be there next week? I am definitely going. Really. No, I am.
