Ok, so I started working on this blanket a long time ago. Like a long time ago. Like before I sliced my finger open and had to have the surgery last year. A long time ago.
I really like the look of the blanket.
As you can see, it's a nice shell stitch (crocheted, not knitted ...), and it was going along really well. Until, like an idiot, I realized I had nowhere near enough yarn.
So I went to the store to buy more, and ... well ... it's been discontinued (It's a no dye lot yarn, so I wasn't worried about the coloring issue).
And then I started realizing, hey, this is acrylic yarn anyway, and everyone says that acrylic is really crappy, so maybe I should just forget the whole thing. Just forget it. But it's so pretty, and I really like it, and all of that.
So then I thought about just doing what I have now as one side, and then replicating that for the other side and doing something different in the middle. But that doesn't get me out of the acrylic yarn problem. So I just don't know what to do!
Any suggestions?
I say either:
1) Narrow it and use it as a scarf.
2) Use it as a shawl. Maybe shorten and widen for this.
3) Get different colored acrylic yarn and add different colored striping on either side. Give it a symmetrical look.
As for the acrylic issue, I don't think acrylic is so bad. You can do your next projects in other materials.
