Being Fremont

The other day, a friend told me I am "very Fremont." This was in response to my assertion that wild, small, sweet blueberries are far superior to the "corporatized" ones you find in grocery stores. While it is good to know I fit in with my neighborhood, I have spent some time thinking about why that may be. I think I am far more sensitized to certain elements of my environs, especially its various flora and fauna, than most, and therefore I tend to be more opinionated about the farther reaching impact of one's actions. Ok, maybe I am just trying to justify being a hippie here.

I love getting out and exploring this area, especially when hiking, since it is in many ways distinct from the places I used to live. Right now I am craving the scent of an old growth forrest, which was all but unknown to me before, and so hopefully I can find a way to sneak out sometime this coming week and get my fix of gorgeous old evergreens.
