Hello again. Did ya miss me? Did ya really really really miss me?

I'm gonna guess...no.

But if you did in the slightest way, just maybe maybe you'd like to know why I've been so durn silent.

Well, there was this little thing called VEGA$$$. That's right. Yours truly finally went to VEGA$$$. And yours truly had lots of fun. And finally, yours truly lost a good deal of money. Oh yes - the goddess of luck did a number on me. Even so...I'm so going back again later...after I recover financially.

Asides from that, I spent a few very long days trying to hit a deadline which I did make. During that time, I learned why Base64 encoding is very important for avoiding illegal Unicode character combinations when serializing encrypted values, cursing why MS makes it so damn hard to do logging with non-privileged service accounts aka tell me again "Why does the event log requires the registry?" and finally - users do the darnedest things like wait until the last minute before actually giving you any feedback on the system. No, I'm not bitter in the least bit.

I also took the time to go through a 1' x 1' square of tiramisu. Glorious tiramisu.

Finally, today was rather musical: picked up the DNTEL album - love (This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan, Underworld "Second Toughest in the Infants" and Rilo Kiley "More Adventurous". I also caught Rilo Kiley doing an acoustic set at a record store. Definitely a nice little concert - a shame I didn't make it to the proper one later that night. I must admit that I'm a little surprised that they were a bit more folk than I expected, but still enjoyable.
