Aspects of a Seattle Weekend

When air travel works, it can work quite well. My flights on this trip were one example of it. Both flights departed on time. The seats (American for the curious) were comfortable, and I was actually able to get some studying in. After a relatively short 3 hr 40 mins, I was over 2000 miles from my original location.

The trip before (which has been documented before) was a veritable nightmare: one delayed flight forcing rerouting the entire trip through several other cities, including one near-heart stopping episode where I made it on to the plane in the middle of the safety presentation. Top off with delays on every other leg.

This weekend was the first time in a long while that I've cooked for friends. It's such a different experience putting your wares on show, trying to coordinate dishes into well-organized meal. I must admit that it didn't turn out quite as well as I wanted it to for one reason (foreign kitchen) or another (total grand experiment), but the overall result seems to have turned out alright: both N-E & DeLish seemed to enjoy it (or hid their disgust very well *grin*).

The menu, in case anyone is curious, is as follows:

Theater is such a joy. With the addition of the Annex Theatre production Stage Door (sound op'd by our dear DeLish), I've seen a grand sum of 3 plays in my entire life, but I certainly plan on making an effort on seeing more. There's something about the live performance aspect of most any art that appeals to me.

Perhaps there might be something interesting showing at the Rep...

N-E has one of the most evilly large collection of movies. It isn't nowhere near close to being outrageously big or large, but it's just filled with interesting things to watch. Without fail, every trip seems to bring on vast amounts of movie watching till the wee hours of the morn.

The movies I can remember watching are...

Recovery is such evil. Although I had what can only be labelled "SUPER FANTABULOUS MEGA FUN" during my stay in Seattle, 5 am nights c/w a two hour timezone difference can really wreak havoc on your system. I must admit that I was surprised that I actually followed through with original plan to run this evening after work. Of course, I'm feeling remarkably dead now; I'm not expecting to be in any time early tomorrow morning.
