I can't stop myself...

I find when I enter Linen-N-Things for one item, I usually leave with several more than intended. Case in point today: I entered with the intention of picking up a whisk and left with two brushes, a spatula and a candy/deep-fry thermometer. This is on top of the slotted spoon, strainer and funnel I picked up elsewhere earlier this week when I needed to make coq-au-vin.

I guess my only hope is that I run out of kitchen utensils to buy (eventually). Needless to say, this might take a while...my poor wallet.

Did you at least remember to get the whisk? 'Cos if you didn't...

Crap. Yes I did, but I'll leave the entry so incorrect so your comment makes sense.

Gene, why is it exactly that you never cooked for us while you were here? ;)

Ummm...tired, lack of cookbooks, unfamiliar cooking space and a million other reasons just because I like to BS? (=

I thought real chefs don't use cookbooks... just like real mechanics don't use manuals!

Graduate from Linens-n-Things... go to the purer form of the drug called Williams & Sonoma.

Trust me, it feels so much better.

(Heck, I even think Crate & Barrel gives a better high than L-n-T....)

Nah. Good mechanics use manuals. The craft has just become too sophisticated to just assume you know how everything works.

Good cooks probably refer to/use cookbooks too I'd guess. They just know when/how to deviate and how to adjust to limited resources.
