The NY Times had an interesting article in last Sunday's Magazine. It talks about how trade is not the demon that the anti-globalization crowd makes it out to be. However, it makes a very important point about hypocrisy of developed nations: they demand the lowering of trade barriers while still propping up their own inefficent industries (farming most notoriously) and disallowing the forced technology transfers that allowed other nations to develop their own native industries.
