So, have you all been
So, have you all been insatiably curious about who these crazy people are that I’m talking about? Now, thanks to Mike Kim, I have lots of humiliating old pictures of me and other folks from our high school days. (In case you haven’t gotten the full hour-long explanation about my odd high school experience, suffice it to say that it was a 3 year residential high school for gifted kids. 600 [or so] geeks who’d never been popular before suddenly find themselves living away from home, away from the cheerleaders and football players, away from all [or at least most of] the torment and surrounded by people just like them. It created an odd dynamic, to say the least. Here’s what our residence halls looked like. This one is 1502. And, for a little variety, here’s 1506.)
First of all - and just to be fair - here’s one of myself and Mitch, taken sometime June-ish, 1994. He was the one great love of my life for … hm. Awhile. Still a good, valued friend, even though I’m a schmuck and never call him back. Have you ever read (or seen) The Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein? He is my Scoop and my Peter, all rolled into one (except for that whole gay thing.)
Here is Gene. Gene was my first official boyfriend ever. I am trying to get him to start a blog - and, more importantly - to move to Seattle to hang out with me. Oh, and just for fun - here’s one of Kris Cook with Gene in a headlock. I like that one.
All right! Here’s another good one of Mike Lee and Jet. Okay, maybe that’s not such a good one of Jet. Here’s another one - this also features Roy, who is blogless (as far as I know).
Finally, here’s one of Mike Lee and Micha Kilburn. Micha is the one who introduced me to all these crazy boys - and then sort of disappeared from my life. Or, rather, we disappeared from each other’s lives. She was a pretty cool chica - she typed papers for Soleil Moon Frye during college, among other things. And she could spit ice really, really far.
Okay, that’s all for now. I should get some actual work done - but I just love it when I finally get to see pictures of my friends’ friends, and I thought I would return the favor.
Happy Monday, all…
