Everyone's down on the scene

It's finally occurred to me that I'm slowly working my way through the Broken Social Scene and the myriad groups associated with it somehow. I bought the first Metric album a while back and enjoyed it enough to grab the latest one along with the most recent BSS. Prior to that, I picked up & raved about the last stars album in an earlier entry. Browsing through the arts & crafts site reveals that Feist is a label made of BSS.

At this rate it's just a question of time before I work my way through all the associations.

Crunch Time

This past month or so has been crunch time for me at work. To be honest, this is the first I've ever really experienced a true crunch time so it's been an "interesting" experience to say the least.

I've been averaging 60+ hours/week for the past few weeks. My basic routine pretty much ended being the following: wake up, go to work, work, lunch, work, dinner, maybe work more, sleep. Overall, it's just a remarkably draining process - you really don't have any time to recuperate and lose any real sense of time per se. Life outside work just grinds to a halt: laundry piles up, the place slowly decays, your grows flabby and weak. Any free moment you have gets relegated to mindless de-stressing. Surprisingly, I haven't gotten sick yet (knock on wood) despite the long hours.

Thankfully, this week will be the end of the relentless pace of death. Things have slacked off enough for me to actually slowly relcaim bits of my life & to get things in order again - clean up the place, get a hair cut, get ready to move, etc. I like things returning to normal.
